Clinton Gets Soaring 15-Point National Lead Over Trump: Polls

Jan Ortega | 07 August, 2016, 00:59

Hillary Clinton had a 15-point lead over Donald Trump in a national poll out Thursday following the Republican nominee's insults of the parents of a fallen soldier and otherwise rocky week in his campaign.

Clinton had pulled well ahead of Trump on the heels of the Democratic National Convention last week, where she became the first woman to accept the USA presidential nomination from a major political party.

The poll conducted by Marist Institute for Public Opinion in NY said last month Clinton's lead was 42-39 advantage over Trump.

Since Republicans lost the White House in 2012, the party has trying to be reaching out to young voters, but they have failed to do so with Donald Trump as their candidate, the latest polls show.

Meanwhile Friday, Clinton was once again explaining her emails, and blamed herself for inconsistencies during an interview about what FBI Director James Comey said, and what she told the American people.

However, what is more unusual is that there may be evident that Trump is really just a plant to guarantee Hillary Clinton the win. It's the worst polling stretch for a presidential candidate at this stage since John McCain in mid-October 2008.

Twenty-eight percent of residents think well of Trump, while 66 percent have a negative opinion.

Clinton went on to repeat that she "never sent or received" classified information on her private email server - a statement that is inconsistent with Comey's testimony on Capitol Hill.

Citing an article in The Washington Times, Trump said efforts to resettle Somali refugees in Minnesota had created “an enclave of immigrants with high unemployment” that strains that states resources and creates “a rich pool of potential recruiting targets for Islamist terrorist groups.”.

"Okay, here we are", she said, to cheers from her supporters.

Clinton has rejected Trump's characterization that she is running for a "third Obama presidency" but has sought to benefit from Obama's record even as she distances herself from some of his positions.

Most likely, you've already seen them - Clinton standing in a shower of confetti or Trump with his hair blowing in the wind.

From here until the election, Hillary can count on the press praising her, while continuing the unrelenting attack on Trump. She's down 4 points on the economy in the NBC-WSJ poll after trailing by double digits the last two months, and she's down 5 points in Fox's poll after trailing by 12 in May. "There were a small number of portion markings on, I think, three of the documents". Ideology this year drew him to Sanders.

When the questions veered back to familiar topics for the Democratic candidate, Clinton's answers were more polished.

Clinton also answered questions about the persistent issue of her private email server that continue to beleaguer her, despite being cleared by the Federal Bureau of Investigation of any criminal activity.

This election is as important, if not more so, than any other we've faced.
