A 74-year-old CT man was arrested for alleged criminal mischief after he went to a Barns & Noble in October and destroyed several of Kim Kardashian West's selfie books, PEOPLE confirms.

The 74-year-old turned himself in to police on Monday.

An elderly man is facing criminal charges after destroying several Kim Kardashian books inside a local book store.

His objection to the social media vixen was taken out on her book of selfies, and they were 'destroyed in the massacre and could not be revived, ' police told NBC Chicago.

According to police, on October 13th Puia put a red liquid all over some Kim Kardashian "Selfish" books at Barnes and Noble. He was released on $2,500 bail. Kim most recently released a new edition of Selfish containing 64-additional pages in October.

Puia had left a note at the scene of the crime, the Hartford Courant reports, accusing the publishing industry and bookstores of selling low-quality books just for money.
