A daycare worker from Upper Darby was sacked and charged with child endangerment and simple assault after pushing a 4-year-old girl down the stairs.

Tavares said she saw Gable push the girl on March 3 while watching on a camera that the center had installed only a half hour earlier.

CCTV shows Sarah Gable, 52, apparently pushing a little girl down a flight of stairs at Childcare of the Future in Pennsylvania around 5:15pm last Friday.

Gable has been arrested and faces assault and child welfare charges in Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania.

Despite the fall, the girl has just a knee injury and was back at the daycare on Monday.

She was released from jail on $25,000 bond. "The little girl was just really shaken up".

Upon descending some steps, Gable briefly stops and looks at the camera, as if acknowledging its presence and perhaps discovering that her position might be compromised. After the child fell, Gable was observed grabbing her and continuing on'. "We don't do this to children".

"It still hurts me, just seeing the video", Tavares told CNN affiliate KYW.

"Tavares says she went to confront the worker and told her, "'What are you doing?

Gable had reportedly worked at the daycare center for about a year but she had about 25 years of experience working in child care. "Her eyes were literally like 'help me'". "Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood described what happened as "...a horrific act, an act of betrayal". She returned to the day care, the Associated Press reported.

He said the child in the video was a 4-year-old girl.
