Arsenal v Lincoln City

Wenger has faced growing calls to end his 20 year reign at Arsenal after a string of disappointing results in the Premier League and Europe, the pressure on the Frenchman only partially easing with Saturday's 5-0 FA Cup quarter-final win over non-League Lincoln City.

While there has been rumours about the idea of a club legend like Thierry Henry, now the assistant manager of the Belgium National Team, taking over or even somebody like Eddie Howe from Bournemouth, with the amount of money in the Premier League and the competitiveness of the league getting stronger every season, Arsenal would be wise to look at a manager who can win trophies and has experience managing a big club.

"Lincoln City will smell blood as they travel to north London hoping to cause one of the FA Cup's all-time shocks against a bruised Arsenal side on Saturday", says the London Evening Standard.

"We understand that the chance is probably one in a thousand, but we will go there with the belief that this can be the one time", said Cowley, whose squad trained at West Ham on Friday.

The non-league side had to play a qualifying round to even get into the FA Cup first round proper and have sold more than 9,000 tickets for the clash at Emirates Stadium.

And it was clear from Wenger's lineup that he wasn't taking any risks against the non-league opponents.

The money generated from their fairytale FA Cup run will help Lincoln in their push towards regaining their league status and mounting a serious attempt to get promoted to League Two in the near future.

Arsene Wenger's men recovered from a 5-1 loss to Bayern to beat Lincoln City 5-0.

It was 3-0 five minutes later when Lincoln's Luke Waterfall turned Keiran Gibb's cross into his own from six-yards out.

"And that's why I maintained 90 percent of the players in the starting lineup".

In turn, Wenger has a conundrum on his hands as he either starts Petr Cech who will undoubtedly be frustrated not to be playing more games outside of the Premier League, or give Martinez a chance which could arguably be a risky move in such a high stakes game.

It took a labouring Arsenal until first-half stoppage time to take the lead through Theo Walcott but the 12-times winners made their superiority count after the break.

"I am surprised. I rate him highly. It was a football education". "It's an impossible job to keep everybody quiet", Wenger said.
