It's virtually the same feature already available on Snapchat, Instagram and WhatsApp, but just goes by a different name. You take a photo of yourself or your surroundings, draw on it, add a filter, and post it as a status of sorts that's viewable by your friends for 24 hours. After months of testing it out to several markets, they are now officially rolling out the Messenger Day feature globally for allAndroid (and iOS) devices.
When you're talking to someone and you send a photo or video, you also have the option of adding it to your day. Essentially, with Messenger Day, a user can share and upload pictures and videos on to Messenger.
In a nutshell, Messenger Day does precisely what your Snapchat Story and your Instagram Story do. Messenger, in fact, is the third Facebook property to launch a clone of Snapchat's popular Stories feature.

Messenger Day puts a slight twist on the slideshow format with filters and art that appears created to ignite more conversations on Messenger. Alternatively, you can tap on the "Add to your day" button at the top of Messenger inbox. There will be some "Add to your Day" text under a photo or video. However, that wasn't enough to scare away the company that kept innovating while sticking to its original concept- letting users share images and videos that disappear in 24 hours. If not, the rest of Messengers features will continue to live on just as they did. Users can take photos and videos using the Messenger's in-app camera, then post them to their Day where friends will have 24 hours to watch them. Ads in Stories help businesses use targeting and reach capabilities that make ads personally relevant to the people they want to reach. So, Facebook allows you to customize how you share by tapping the "more" icon and then choosing "Everyone Except" or "Custom". You can then add directly to your day, save it to your phone's camera roll, and/or you can choose to send it to a specific person or group of people.
As its name suggests, you'll open Messenger and see a new series of card icons at the top of the screen, which might remind Snapchat users of how Discover Stories used to be previewed at the top.
You can also select a video or picture placed in a conversation.
