Nintendo to double Switch production following strong demand

South Park The Fractured But Whole Not Coming to Switch Nintendo Switch availability and restock search boost for Gamestop and Amazon

GameStop has announced that they'll have fresh Nintendo Switch stock available on Wednesday, but only at in-store locations. This is the main reason why Nintendo has recently made a decision to double the production for their much appreciated console. The company reportedly sold 1.5 million units on its first week, buoyed by the strong sales of its flagship game The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of the Wild. Demand for the console is far outpacing supply, but that's about to change.

The 16-million figure already tops the total sales of the Nintendo Wii U, the Switch's console predecessor that has only sold a disappointing 13.5 million units since its 2012 launch, despite the projected 100 million units.

The Nintendo Switch is a completely new video game concept.

Hopefully Nintendo can maintain this momentum until prospective buyers are actually able to get their hands on a Switch. People who have supposedly been briefed on the matter told The Wall Street Journal that Nintendo has ordered 16 million Switch consoles, or possibly even more, for its fiscal year starting April 2017. While other games will slowly be making their way to the system, Breath of the Wild is the only major release now available for the system, and the only major one that will be on the console until late April, when Super Mario Kart 8 Deluxe hits shelves. And once hackers find a small loophole in the console's security, a lot of possibilities can happen.

But this morning the Grey version of the Nintendo Switch came back in stock at the official Nintendo website, while Argos was also selling both the grey and neon versions.

Lightweight Lotus Elise sprints in
Before this becomes too cynical though, a lighter Elise is surely a better Elise: "Less mass means more Lotus", apparently. The auto is 23kg lighter than its predecessor, but with all lightweight options included that number increases to 40kg.

The small controllers that are detachable from the mobile unit also slide onto a home controller.

According to NintendoLife and one of its readers, JunkRabbit, switching off the Wi-Fi on the Nintendo Switch caused the frame rate problems to vanish immediately.

"The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+" is the highlight game among this week's newest games for Nintendo Switch console.

Several users are reporting about the quality issues in the initial batch of the Switch console.
