Missing Indian clerics in custody of Pakistan's intelligence agency: PTI

Head cleric of Delhi's Sufi shrine Nizamuddin Dargah goes missing in Pakistan Sushma Swaraj asks for update from Islamabad on Indian clerics missing in Pakistan

We would like to thank the Indian government and Sushma Swaraj for their efforts. Sources say that they were detained by the Pakistan intelligence agencies when they landed in the country to meet their relatives.

"Pakistan's Foreign Office has confirmed they have been traced and reached Karachi", the Press Trust of India reported, citing unnamed sources.

The two clerics from Delhi's Nizamuddin Dargah went to Pakistan on March 8. Next day they went to see Data Darbar Dargah in Lahore. Nazim Ali Nizami was stopped to clear some documentation at Lahore airport and Asif Nizami was asked to board the flight.

Senior journalist and commentator Sultan Hali told National Herald that it seemed highly improbable that state agencies would detain such well-known and important visitors to Pakistan.

Lightweight Lotus Elise sprints in
Before this becomes too cynical though, a lighter Elise is surely a better Elise: "Less mass means more Lotus", apparently. The auto is 23kg lighter than its predecessor, but with all lightweight options included that number increases to 40kg.

"We have taken up this matter with government of Pakistan and requested them for an update on both the Indian nationals in Pakistan", Sushma wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter on Friday morning.

Nizami also informed that the phone of the clerics was now ringing, adding that they would be able to talk to them very soon.

"My father Syed Asif Ali Nizami, 80, and his nephew Nazim Nizami, 60, went missing from Lahore and Karachi airports, respectively, on Wednesday evening", Asif's elder son Sazid Ali Nizami told IANS. On March 15 they had visited the well-known Daata Darbar Dargah in Lahore and were reportedly driven to the Lahore airport by local leaders of the Pakistan People's Party.

Branding the disappearance of two Indian Sufi clerics in Karachi as a worrisome issue, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday assured that the Government of India is putting pressures on Pakistan regarding the issue. Meanwhile, Pakistan on Friday said it was looking into the matter.
