Arsene Wenger has revealed that he has made a decision on his Arsenal future.

The Arsenal fans have carried out a number of protests over the last few weeks through banners in the stadium, and pre and post-match rants on numerous fan television channels.

Wenger's current contract expires at the end of the season.

Having to play any stretch without him would be a big blow to the Gunners, but having to do so now, when they've lost four of five in the league to fall out of the top four, would be disastrous.

More anti-Wenger banners were held aloft by Gunners fans in the closing stages at The Hawthorns, while in the first half two planes pulled banners overhead - one criticising the Frenchman and the other supporting him.

After being down with flu and out of action in the last two games, Nigerian worldwide, Alex Iwobi, returned to action for Arsenal on Saturday in the English Premier League.

Eighth-placed West Brom suffered consecutive defeats to Crystal Palace and Everton before beating Arsenal, to virtually assure themselves of survival this season with 43 points on the board.

Wenger, Arsenal's manager since 1996, is believed to have been offered a new two-year contract.

After the worldwide break, Arsenal's next Premier League game is against Manchester City, the side they face in next month's FA Cup semi-final.

The Arsenal manager reported that Sanchez's ankle was in "an absolutely bad state" after he was taken off near the end of the 3-1 defeat but he is still unsure of the extent of the injury to his key attacker.

"That's not true", an Arsenal spokesman told Germany's Sky Sports News. "We have to go away and recover and prepare well for the end of the season".

The Arsenal boss, who insisted that he had not informed anyone at the club of his decision, does not necessarily think the uncertainty surrounding his future is impacting on his players.

"We are sorry to the fans because that's not acceptable for Arsenal Football Club to lose the way we did", Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain said.
