Wenger insists both Ozil and Sanchez are happy at Arsenal

Jan Ortega | 31 March, 2017, 00:07

Alexis said he wanted to stay in London, but with a team who are challenging for the title, which is now being twisted to sound like he is in want of a move to Chelsea, but that may not be his wish.

"We have two games in hand [on Liverpool in fourth]". The Arsenal manager intimated that Chelsea will have a tough fight if they want to buy the Chilean, because his club now have the resources to resist any bid.

Wenger's own future remains shrouded in mystery, with the likes of Ivan Gazidis, Stan Kroenke and Sir Chips Keswick hiding in the shadows, seemingly happy for the club's figurehead to play a game of wait and see. "It's true that we have not extended his contract yet. I am a player that takes great care of myself".

"I like to stay in a city and in a team, but in a team that is a victor, that has a winning mentality".

"Everything offensively nearly goes through them".

"He [Ozil] is in contention to start again. He has worked very hard this week". "I think there is a very, very strong basis, but the team needs to be strengthened, of course". "Priority is what happens on the pitch", he said, while backing the introduction of video technology to review decisions in the sport. Both teams will attack, they go for it, we go for it so it should be a positive game.

Despite scoring five and assisting five goals in 22 Premier League appearances this season, the 28-year-old feels he has become a scapegoat for Arsenal's struggles.

"I wanted to be a professional footballer from when I was small", he said.

"Personally, I always was in favour of it and I said always that the first thing to deal with is the offsides and the game has shown that". That exists in the world, you know.
