In their Road to 2020 business presentation, the company outlines strategies for creating titles that "will become global hits".

Elsewhere, the report suggests Total War: Warhammer shifted half a million units in three days, while the company's total unit sales for the previous fiscal year hit 10.28 million.

As we reported earlier, SEGA will spend $455.1 million research and development to facilitate a number of new digital and packaged games, which will all fall into it's four-point IP pathway: revival IPs, existing IPs, new IPs, and external IPs. This will no doubt come as good news to classic Sega fans, as countless franchises have fell by the wayside in recent years.

Seeing how Sega wants to bring its games to other platforms, which are not named specifically, but the general idea of mobile, PC and consoles means that everyone will gain access to some of the new games and old revivals. Sega's wording in the statement is interesting - what amounts to a "major" brand for the publisher remains to be seen.

SEGA sells by far most of its packaged games overseas, with 7.37 million units shipped overseas a year ago versus 1.85 million units in Japan.

One of the ways they group plan to do this is by reviving past IPs. These include series like Persona, Football Manager, Total War, Phantasy Star, and of course, Sonic the Hedgehog. So far as that goes, we may actually have some idea as to what properties Sega is most interested in reviving.
