Chile Coach, Juan Antonio Pizzi, said Alexis Sanchez is fit to play against Germany on Thursday in their second Confederations Cup Group B match.

"The nature of the tournament with the games so close together, it doesn't make sense going in with the same XI", Postecoglou said at his pre-match press conference.

"I'm not sure Chile are unfair in the way they play", he said.

"I don't see any game as more winnable than any other", he added.

"We are eager to play against such a strong team in a tournament and potentially beat them". Head coach Hugo Broos was still satisfied with his players' efforts against the more illustrious opponents and a superior quality side such as Chile.

The 36-year-old could well be between the posts again for the showdown with the 2012 World Cup winners should the Manchester City keeper not be deemed match fit.

Attacker Robbie Kruse impressed off the bench against Germany and may get a start while the likes of Jackson Irvine in midfield and defender Ryan McGowan could come into the XI.

Low's exciting young team relished their first experience of big tournament football in their opening game against Australia in Sochi, winning 3-2.

Broos also railed against the organising committee for delays, calling for the Russians to review their transport plans in time for the World Cup next year.

If need be, Low will be able to call on capable replacements in Barcelona's Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Paris Saint-Germain No.1 Kevin Trapp. "They're one of the most flexible teams in the world".

The second round of the group stage in the Confederations Cup is well underway and in Group B, Cameroon and Australia will look to get their first points on the board when they face off against each other at Stadion Krestovsky in St Petersburg on Thursday.

The Video Assistant Referee overshadowed Cameroon's 1-1 draw with Australia at the Confederations Cup.

Germany have won all of the three competitive meetings between the teams, and won their last friendly encounter in Stuttgart in 2014, when they prevailed 1-0 thanks to a Mario Gotze goal. The role of midfielder Aaron Mooy is also key as he will need to keep things tight ahead of his defensive unit, while Tomi Juric will need to produce a performance similar to that on Monday to ensure an Aussie win.
