The ATF and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are among the officials investigating an explosion outside an Oklahoma Air Force recruiting office. He later joined the Oklahoma Air National Guard in October 2014 and was discharged from the 138th Fighter Wing in April.

Military records show he was a decorated servicemen who was previously awarded the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and the Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with a gold border, suggesting he had served in a combat zone. That role has not yet been revealed by authorities.

Four federal charges were filed against him Wednesday: malicious damage to federal property by use of explosive, two counts of destruction of federal property and use of explosive to commit federal felony.

Special agents also are looking into whether a link exists with a vandalism at another recruitment office that is within walking distance of the bomb site.

No one was working when the blast went off late on Monday night. The front doors of the recruiting center were boarded up by Airmen about 7 a.m., the Tulsa World reports. He hasn't been formally charged. He is jailed without bond.

The FBI and federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating.
