Local LGBTQ leaders and political experts are weighing in after President Donald Trump tweeted Wednesday morning announcing that transgender people will be banned in the nation's military.

Needless to say that Trump's transphobic tweets have already irked people across the world, including celebrities like Katy Perry, Ellen DeGeneres, and Lady Gaga among several others.

"We are talking about doing things as a troop where you lose your individuality, and you are part of a troop, a larger unit", President Randy Thomasson said.

DeCarlo is also an Air Force veteran.

"It's scary that people who have spent years of their life serving their country who happened to be transgender who require medical attention are potentially going to get kicked out", Bender said. "If you constantly draw attention to yourself, spend all day distracting everyone, and cost taxpayers millions of dollars, the flawless job for you isn't the military: It's President of the United States".

Dunford is responding to Trump's announcement on Twitter Wednesday that the government will not allow or accept transgender people in the military "in any capacity".

"Thank you?", Colbert asked, perplexed.

"I know it's not over", he said. "You are so stupid.' I don't even think Trump knows what transgender means - he probably thinks transgender people are those cars that turn into robots". It's a great feeling to be able to serve the country and perform.

A 2016 study done by the Rand Corporation, which offers research and analysis to the United States Armed Forces, provided in-depth estimates of potential costs for transgender people in the military. "They are patriots. And they deserve better than this".

Numerous protesters delivered emotional speeches explaining how the ban would impact them. "Join us!" said the tweet, which included the hashtag #DiversityIsOurStrength.

Jenner, who voted for Donald Trump, caught flack earlier in the day when the ban was announced. I did 20 years of flying in fighters, and I did 10 years of that in and out of combat. However, President Trump's fixation on those who are different from him is troubling.

It's unclear what role the Pentagon played in Trump's decision to bar transgender war fighters from serving.

As always, the policy announcement came through three consecutive Tweets.

It's unclear what the ban will mean for now serving transgender soldiers.

"We should all be guided by the principle that any American who wants to serve our country and is able to meet the standards should have the opportunity to do so - and should be treated as the patriots they are", McCain said. Now, we must also protect them.

The Military Times also reported that US$41.6 million was spent on Viagra alone in 2014, and a total of almost 1.18 million prescriptions were filled for erectile dysfunction medications from 2011-14. "Rather than sensationalizing division in our USA military -the greatest fighting force on earth -we need to focus on getting our troops the resources they need, and taking care of our veterans when they return home from the battlefield".
